1. Overview & Commitment

At Linely, we believe that navigating public transit should not come at the cost of your digital privacy. This privacy policy explains how Linely ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our mobile applications and related services.

Our core principle is simple: we collect only the minimal data necessary to provide accurate public transit arrival countdowns, routing, and sync features. We do not sell your personal data, track your location history, or display behavioral advertisements.

2. Location Data Processing

Linely requests access to your device's location ("While Using the App") exclusively to determine your proximity to nearby transit stops (e.g. MRT, LRT, and bus stations within 500 meters) and calculate distances to interchange hubs.

On-device processing: Your precise coordinates are used in real-time on your device to query nearby stations. We do not log your coordinates, build travel histories, or transmit your physical journey traces to any analytics or advertising networks.

You can disable location access at any time through your device settings. Linely remains fully functional in manual search mode without location permissions enabled.

3. Account Information & Cloud Synchronization

You can use Linely anonymously in guest mode without creating an account. If you choose to sign in to enable multi-device sync, we collect:

• Email address: Used solely for authentication (one-time password or OAuth verification) and account identity.
• Saved preferences: Your bookmarked stations, pinned routes, and notification settings to sync across your signed-in devices.

4. Push Notifications & Alerts

If you opt in to push notifications, we store an anonymous device push token to send you service disruption alerts, platform updates, and arrival reminders. You can turn off push notifications at any time in the app settings or via system settings.

5. Third-Party Service Providers & Open Data

To deliver transit functionality, Linely interacts with selected infrastructure providers under strict privacy standards:

• Map rendering: Map tiles and vector station rendering are powered by Mapbox. Mapbox may collect standard technical network telemetry (IP address, device type) to serve map tiles.
• Transit schedule feeds: Schedule timetables are sourced from public GTFS open data published by OpenDOSM, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, and Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad. No user personal data is shared with transit authorities.

6. Data Retention & Right to Deletion

We retain your account data (saved stops and profile details) only for as long as your account remains active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated synchronized data at any time from within the app via Profile → Delete Account. Upon confirmation, your record is purged immediately from our databases.

7. Children's Privacy

Linely is intended for general public commuters and does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13.

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy periodically to reflect enhancements to our services or relevant legal updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
